How do i get enough customers or clients anywhere as a web designer?
Your portfolio must be attractive and all your website code must validate.

You must be confident and able to present yourself well at a panel interview. If you can't do this, work alongside someone who can.

You need to see some real-life examples of successful and unsuccessful web proposals. If you get rejected ask for feedback and look at what the successful applicant created for them. Could you do what they did?

Are you specialising in one sector? You need to understand that sector's ways of working, how they make decisions, how they view risks and innovation, their likely resources etc.

Are you a one-man band? Find other freelancers, graphic artists, coders etc who could collaborate on larger projects.

Is there a local group of web professionals that meet up occasionally near you? Go along.
Reply:you just did

this was a start

get your name out in the world any way you can
Reply:Join your local Chamber of Commerce and take advantage of networking and marketing opportunities that it provides.

Contact your local Small Business Development Center (www.sbdc.gov) for free assistance with business planning and development. Businesses that start from a strong business plan are 80% more likely to succeed.

Include the cost of a marketing consultant in your business plan. If you don't have the expertise to market yourself - take advantage of the knowledge and experience of someone who does.
