I just added 2 gigs of ram to my computer and now it wants to shut down every now and then whats wrong?

I had 512 megs and no prblem other than I needed more ram for my recording music. So I put 2 gigs of ram that best Buy told my that is best for my PC in it. It worked fine then every 2 to 3 hours my PC will shot down?

One of the sticks is probably bad. Take one out and run it. If the problem continues switch them. If it works, the one not in the computer is bad and it needs to be replaced.
